Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Sewell voted in support of the continuing resolution legislation H.R. 8337, which provides for the continuation of funding for the programs contained in the 12 annual appropriation acts for FY2020. The bill passed the House in a final vote of 359-57-1.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - On Thursday, October 5, Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell (D-AL) hosted the 2017 Veterans Resource Fair in Alabama's 7th Congressional District. The event provides assistance with issues unique to veterans including VA benefits, transportation resources, health screenings, housing options, mental health services, caregiver support, women’s services, career services, and more. Over 400 veterans, family members, and constituents attended the fair, along with over 25 resource groups and service officers who were onsite to help attendees.
On Thursday, October 5, Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell (D-AL) will host the 2017 Veterans Resource Fair in Alabama's 7th Congressional District. The event aims to connect veterans with jobs and training, help at federal agencies, and provide veterans with the opportunity to engage with their local community. Over 25 resource groups and service officers will be onsite to help attendees. The event is free and open to the public.

Washington, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1367, a bill to improve hiring and retention practices for employees of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The House voted to include an amendment offered by Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell (D-AL) encouraging the VA Secretary to select eligible employees for its Fellowship Program who represent rural areas in order to alleviate the systemic burdens of rural healthcare workforce shortages. Rep. Sewell’s amendment and the underlying bill passed in bipartisan votes.
