Sewell calls for transparency and accountability in the investigation of the fatal shooting by Hoover Police

BIRMINGHAM, AL – On Thursday, November 22, a Hoover police officer fatally shot Mr. Emantic Fitzgerald “EJ” Bradford, Jr. of Hueytown, AL at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover. Following the shooting, the Hoover Police Department mistakenly claimed EJ Bradford had fired shots at the mall, injuring two other people.

Grant will fund new wastewater treatment system for Uniontown families

WASHINGTON, D.C.On Friday, November 16, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a $23.4 million grant to address an ongoing wastewater treatment crisis in Uniontown, Alabama. USDA will work with the municipality to create an outside board which will oversee the development of a new wastewater system for Uniontown residents.
