Washington, D.C. -- Congresswoman Terri Sewell thanked the U.S. Department of Transportation Deputy Secretary Victor Mendez for visiting the City of Birmingham where he met with civic and business leaders, and toured local construction projects.

“I am pleased that Deputy Secretary Victor Mendez came to the City of Birmingham to meet with civic leaders and top executives from small minority-owned and women-owned businesses, tour the Downtown Intermodal Facility and visit new construction projects throughout the City.

“Birmingham is looking to the future, and we are poised to become a leader in the Southeast. We are working to attract more industries, and I hope the Deputy Secretary’s visit will encourage business and government leaders from across the country – and from around the world – to visit and learn more about what the City of Birmingham has to offer.”
