WASHINGTON, DC – Tomorrow, Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell (AL-7) will attend the National Prayer Breakfast at the Washington Hilton Hotel with two faith-based leaders from the 7th Congressional District of Alabama.  The Prayer Breakfast is held annually, and provides an opportunity for political, community, faith-based and business leaders from all over the world to come together to pray and reflect upon issues facing the nation and the world. President and Mrs. Obama will be in attendance.  As is the tradition, the President will deliver the keynote.

Sewell.  “Now more than ever, we need to unify and work to bridge barriers and create solutions to the most pressing issues facing our country and our world. Guests accompanying Rep. Sewell to the breakfast will be two pastors from the 7th Congressional District:

• Reverend Roy Ferguson, St. John Missionary Church, Tuscaloosa, AL
• Reverend Gary Crum, Ellwood Community Church, Selma, AL

The National Prayer Breakfast is a bi-partisan event held in Washington, DC, on the first Thursday of February each year.  The breakfast, held in the Hilton Hotel’s International Ballroom, is attended by some 3,500 guests, including international invitees from over 100 countries.  It is hosted by members of the United States Congress and is organized on their behalf by The Fellowship Foundation, a Christian organization.
