Some members of Alabama's House delegation may be taking a stance Friday on a bill that paves the way for President Obama to get a massive trade agreement approved without having read the secret text of the potential deal between the U.S. and 11 other Pacific Rim countries.

Of the state's seven House members, five said they read the draft of the ongoing trade negotiations known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership and one didn't give a definitive answer. The seventh, U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Huntsville, said he hasn't read the text out of principle and will only read it if it is released to the public.

The House is expected to take up a bill Friday that gives Obama fast-track authority to negotiate trade deals, including the TPP, through Congress.
