Fox 6 Birmingham: Gov. Bentley, officials tour tornado damage in Birmingham
Governor Robert Bentley, along with Mayor William Bell and Representative Terri Sewell, toured areas of Birmingham Sunday afternoon that suffered damage from a tornado that struck on Christmas Day.
Bentley said looking at the damage brings back bad memories of the tornado outbreak from April 27, 2011.
“Alabama is certainly not immune to severe weather, but we respond well. We take care of each other. It crosses party lines. It crosses racial lines,” Bentley said.
City officials estimate more than 70 homes sustained damage from the EF2 tornado. No lives were lost in the storm.
