WTOK: Sewell Brings Congress to the Community
Pennington, Ala. Alabama Cong. Terri Sewell visited with constituents at Pennington Town Hall Tuesday morning. The stop was part of her 'Congress in Your Community' tour. She gave a legislative update about what's happening in Washington.
Citizens also had a chance to voice their concerns. Sewell says she is very passionate about education and she focused a lot of her address on that issue.
"I believe that it's a way to get our children a better opportunity and therefore, uplift our communities," said Sewell. "They say that education is the great equalizer. I think that my life is a living testament to that, and I am really passionate about smaller communities like Pennington."
Sewell's 7th congressional district covers west Alabama counties and stretches east to the Birmingham area.
Sewell will be at Thomaston Town Hall in Marengo County from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. She will visit Thomasville City Hall in Clarke County Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
