TUSCALOOSA, AL – On Thursday, October 18, 2018, Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell (D-AL) will host a Grants Workshop in Tuscaloosa on Securing Broadband Grants. The workshop will focus on grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) as well as grants from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA). Participants will hear from federal and state representatives about the USDA Community Connect Grant Program as well as the Alabama Broadband Accessibility Fund.

The Community Connect Grant Program is a broadband grants program that provides community access to broadband services in unserved areas through a one-time grant. The Alabama Broadband Accessibility Fund was created to achieve high-speed broadband services in unserved rural Alabama. Both grants are open to organizations such as universities, private companies, and cooperatives. This workshop is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
