WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell (AL-7) announced that $47,500 was awarded to the City of Camden to update their airport master plan.  The U.S. Department of Transportation funds were awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration.

“This funding will help the Camden Municipal Airport prepare for expansion,” said Rep. Sewell.  “These are the types of funding opportunities that will make the 7th Congressional District more attractive to new businesses and travelers.”

“I appreciate Congresswoman Sewell’s efforts in this endeavor,” said Max J. Baggett Jr., Mayor Pro Tempe of Camden.  “I look forward to working with her again in the future to help expand our airport.”

According to the project description, the funding will be used to update the Camden Municipal Airport master plan study, which will show current and future needs of the airport.  Camden Municipal Airport is a general aviation airport associated with Camden, Alabama.
