Washington, DC— Today, Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell (D-AL) issued the following statement regarding the Department of Justice’s approval of Alabama’s redistricting plan:

“Today, The Department of Justice approved Alabama's congressional redistricting plan. It is a privilege and an honor to serve the 7th Congressional District, and I look forward to having the opportunity to serve the newly drawn district. Regardless of how the congressional lines have been drawn, my job will remain the same.   I will continue to listen to and be a voice for the people of my district, and promote policies in Washington that encourage job creation, strengthen economic development and protect the interests of my constituents.  The families, seniors and children of the 7th Congressional District deserve nothing less. I am honored to represent them in Congress and I look forward to continuing to work hard for them each day.”
