Congresswoman Sewell to Visit 7th District Counties Affected by April 15 Storms and Tornadoes

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Rep. Sewell (D-AL) will visit Tuscaloosa, Greene, Hale, Marengo and Sumter Counties to survey the damage caused by the storms and tornadoes on April 15. Rep. Sewell will also join Governor Robert Bentley, Geiger City Mayor Michael Cunningham Jr., Alabama Emergency Management Agency Director Art Faulkner, and Sumter County Emergency Management Director Margaret Bishop-Gulley to survey the storm damage in Sumter County.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the people killed by the storms and tornadoes that hit communities across Alabama on Friday and the many other residents whose property and homes were damaged,” said Rep. Sewell. “My office will continue to work with federal, state and local officials to ensure that we are doing all we can to get people the resources and assistance they need to rebuild their communities after these storms.”
This week, Congresswoman Sewell will also visit other counties in the 7th Congressional District that were affected by the heavy storms and tornadoes.
