Birmingham, AL -- Today, Congresswoman Terri Sewell (D-AL) released the following statement congratulating the Wenonah High School Lady Dragons basketball team:
“I am incredibly proud to extend congratulations to the Wenonah Lady Dragons on winning their third consecutive Alabama Girls Class 5A Basketball Championship. As we celebrate the month of March as Women’s History Month, it is befitting that we commend these young ladies for blazing their own remarkable path both athletically and academically as student athletes," states Representative Sewell.
“I have seen first-hand the tremendous talent of the students in the 7th Congressional District. To win three consecutive basketball championships is an amazing feat. These young ladies have shown what is truly possible with hard work and determination.”
