This year’s job fair was hosted at the University of West Alabama in Livingston to promote job opportunities in Alabama’s rural Blackbelt. “One of my top priorities in Congress is creating an environment for job growth, wage growth, and a better future for Alabama families,” said Rep. Terri Sewell. “I am committed to bringing better job opportunities to Alabama’s rural Blackbelt. My annual job fair is an opportunity to jumpstart job growth in the 7th District by connecting constituents directly with employers in the area. This year, we brought together employers from the manufacturing industry, health services, the military, and more in order to cater to constituents with a diverse range of work experiences.”
“Today was also a chance for me to talk one-on-one with workers and employers from the Blackbelt of Alabama. When I head back to Congress to work on issues like job growth and tax reform, constituent input is critically important. I look forward to continuing some of the conversations I had today in town halls later this year.”
