Rep. Sewell Hosts Veterans Resource Fair
October 5, 2017
BIRMINGHAM, AL - On Thursday, October 5, Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell (D-AL) hosted the 2017 Veterans Resource Fair in Alabama's 7th Congressional District. The event provides assistance with issues unique to veterans including VA benefits, transportation resources, health screenings, housing options, mental health services, caregiver support, women’s services, career services, and more. Over 400 veterans, family members, and constituents attended the fair, along with over 25 resource groups and service officers who were onsite to help attendees.
“I am committed to ensuring that every veteran, service member, and military family has access to the support they have earned through their service to our country,” said Rep. Terri Sewell. “Whether our veterans need assistance receiving benefits at the VA or they’re simply looking for opportunities to engage with the community, today’s resource fair was an opportunity for us to connect them with organizations and service officers who are ready to help. As we seek solutions in Congress to address the challenges our veterans face, today’s resource fair helped to ensure that the needs of veterans in our district are met.”
