BIRMINGHAM., AL – On Friday, October 21, Rep. Terri A. Sewell (D-AL) will host “To Infinity and Beyond: A Day with NASA Astronauts.”  The purpose of the event is to inspire and educate a diverse group of Alabama students about the careers and opportunities in space science, aerospace technology, engineering and related scientific fields. With Birmingham City Schools’ Carver High as the host site, the event will offer students a rare chance to interact and engage with an astronaut via a NASA satellite downlink from the International Space Station.

“I look forward to working with NASA and our local school districts to ensure that all of our students have access and exposure to the opportunities and benefits of science, technology, engineering and mathematics,” said Rep. Sewell.
