Washington, D.C. - Tomorrow, U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell (AL-07) will host the second Military Service Academy Virtual Preview Day via Facebook Live with representatives from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the Marion Military Institute. Guests will provide presentations about the admissions process, resources, and scholarships available for students. Following their presentations, Rep. Sewell will host a conversation with Second Lieutenant Terence A. Perkins, a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy from Alabama’s 7th District, to discuss his personal experience at the Academy. Students interested in being nominated to one of the service academies are encouraged to tune in here

To be considered for an appointment to a Military Service Academy, an applicant must meet the eligibility requirements established by law and be legally domiciled within the boundaries of Alabama's 7th Congressional District. Students MUST complete a 2021 nomination application which can be found on Rep. Sewell's website here.

Submissions must be received by the Birmingham Office by U.S. mail postmarked no later than Friday, November 19, 2021. Applications should be mailed to:
